A modular DC busbar, with locations for four DC fuses. It will monitor the status of each fuse, and indicate its condition with a LED on the front. Part of the modular Lynx distribution system.

Provides connection for 4 DC circuits/loads/groups, with space for individual DC fuses & LEDs to indicate fuse blown. Needs the Lynx Shunt with wide 8-70VDC input to supply 5V power requirement for the circuit board. Connected to Distributor with RJ11 cable (included). Central & blow fuse LED turn red when fuse is blown/missing. Future upgrade to send info back to GX device on VE-can. May need dummy fuses to extinguish red LEDs if not all connection points are used.

Fuses

MEGA fuses are utilized. It is necessary to utilize a 58/64V rated fuse in cases of 48V systems, as some MEGA fuses are only rated for 36V.

Why Fuse the Bus?

Batteries possess a unique ability to both provide and receive energy.

Power can flow from them to a load (or a fault). It can also flow to them from a charge source (eg other batteries or solar).

It is essential that when batteries are linked to a power system and the possibility of currents flowing between connections in the event of failure, robust and sufficient circuit protection is enabled - making the Lynx Distributor a necessity.
